New 2016 Ford Explorer Goes to the Dark Side with Ebony Black Theme

Prospective buyers of the new 2016 Ford Explorer will now be able to select from two interior color themes with the Platinum trim: the regular high-contrast Medium Soft Ceramic and Ebony Black, or the all-new all-Ebony Black. Which option would you choose? With these options, the new 2016 Ford Escape has become more customizable and can be adapted to fit your personality.

When it was launched in September, the 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum was only available with the Medium Soft Ceramic and Ebony Black interior color theme. The seats, door panels, pillars, and headliner are Medium Soft Ceramic while the instrument panel and floor are Ebony Black, creating a high-contrast environment pleasing to the eye.  Not to mention making the Ford Escape more stylish then ever!

The new theme is low-contrast and features Ebony Black all throughout. This makes the brushed aluminum and satin chrome trim waterline around the dashboard and door panels truly pop out. Regardless of the color scheme you choose, both come with satin-finished ash wood appliqués.

Both are available for order now and can be experienced in our showroom at Highway Ford!  So be sure to stop by and see for yourself the new interior to decide which one is right for you!

Ford’s Best-Selling Utility Vehicle Continues with New Explorer Milestones

2015 Ford Explorer

The Explorer is Ford’s best-selling utility vehicle and has crossed the 7 million threshold.

Sport utility vehicles weren’t new in 1990, but they sure weren’t as popular. Sometimes, making something popular is not a question of innovation or novelty—it’s just a matter of taking something that already exists and making it better in every way.

Twenty-four years ago, the Ford Explorer did just that. It can be partly credited for the rise in popularity of SUVs—well, it wasn’t so much a “rise” as it was an explosion. Between 1991 and 1994, Ford sold a million first-generation Explorers. By 2001, it had sold three times that number in only twice the time, and then another two million by 2005.

Today, Ford’s best-selling utility vehicle has reached the seven-million sales mark and can very well be called America’s best-selling utility for nearly 25 years. If you ask us, their latest model is the best one yet. Come give it a test drive at Highway Ford!

Thanks to Escape, Explorer, and Fusion, Ford’s July Sales Numbers Soar

There have been no summer doldrums for the Ford Motor Company, as the brand moved 212,236 vehicles in just the month of July alone. That number was good enough for a 10% increase in sales over last year’s numbers, which also made this the best July for the Blue Oval in eight years. Ford sales in the month were led by SUVs like the Escape and Explorer as well as a strong performance from the Fusion midsize sedan.

“July proved to be a very good month for Ford and Lincoln with positive gains across the board in all the major segments,” said John Felice, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Escape and Fusion were big contributors to our sales increases, with both setting July sales records. F-Series again topped the 60,000-vehicle sales mark and we’re seeing great initial demand for our launch vehicles, such as the Transit Connect, Transit Connect Wagon and the Lincoln MKC as availability builds.”

We’re seeing lots of that same demand here at Highway Ford, too, so make sure to come see us as soon as you can. As you can tell, based on those crazy sales numbers, these cars don’t sit on our lots for long. So come see us today to find the perfect Ford car, truck or SUV for you and your family today!
