2019 Ford Ranger Will Return to the States!

Ford Ranger 2012 20

We’re guessing that the 2019 Ford Ranger will have some similar feature to the 2012 European version, shown here.

If you’re not excited yet, you should be: Ford has announced the Ford Ranger pickup will return to the United States in 2019. So start packing for your next big adventure now, because the 2019 Ford Ranger is sure to deliver all the rugged capability you’ll need to press on when the main road ends and the backcountry begins. This ultra-versatile truck is sure to be a massive hit for the adventurous, the brave, the curious, and those who simply love a good time.

Still available in pretty much every market besides North America, details about the new 2019 Ford Ranger are still emerging. It seems quite clear, though, that the new Ranger—set to be built in Ford Michigan assembly plant and sold in the US—won’t be the same as the Ranger currently available elsewhere in the world. For now, all we can do is speculate about what a North American Ranger will look and feel like.

All Ford has confirmed is that the American Ranger will get its own “front styling, engines, and features.” And while this might seem like very little to get excited about, the prospect of a newly reengineered Ford Ranger is a lot to look forward to. In the meantime, stop by Highway Ford and stay in the know as more details emerge about the 2019 Ford Ranger.

2015 Ford Fusion Models

Recent Ford Fusion spy shots indicate that the Blue Oval Company will soon be offering a mid-cycle update for its 2017 model.

Beneath the black and white camouflage covers, the implied lines indicate changes to the front and rear fascia of the car. The pictures from the ‘car-parazzi’ show the 2017 Ford Fusion adorned with a new grille and also indicate reworked headlights, tail lamps, and added trapezoidal fog lights as well as a new bumper. A horizontal chrome bar extending along the tailgate has also been added.

Inside the cabin, a rotary dial is expected to replace the standard gear level, which is the current standard, and will also be found on the 2016 Ford Taurus to be unveiled later this month at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.

Under the hood, the newest Fusion is projected to maintain its gasoline and hybrid options with no major changes to the powertrain offerings expected to occur.

So, need a mid-size sedan offering an array of powertrain options with a reasonable price tag? Expected to come to market next year, look no further than the Ford Fusion from Highway Ford.  Tell us what you are excited most about the latest model of the Ford Fusion!

Mustang Wins Vincentric Best Value in America Award for 6th Straight Year

2015 Ford MustangThe Ford Mustang has done it again: for the sixth straight year, America’s favorite pony car has won the Vincentric Best Value in America Award for Sports Cars.

This award is based on statistical analysis that combines total cost of ownership of 2015 model year vehicles with their current market price, taking in account insurance, financing, maintenance, and depreciation. After weighing all these categories, the winner is chosen from the one that does the best overall!

In other words, if you are buying a sports car, the 2015 Mustang will give you the best bang for your buck. At Highway Ford, we’d wager that a big part of that is the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, which uses direct injection and variable cam timing to deliver huge power at little cost of fuel—making the car more economical in the long run.

The Vincentric Best Value in America Award joins the many other honors the Mustang has already racked up, including “Hottest Car” of the 2014 SEMA Show, 2015 Automobile All-Star, Edmunds.com’s Most Popular Entry Sport Car, Cars.com’s Shoppers’ Choice Award, and lots more!  For more information about everyone’s favorite sports car, contact us here at Highway Ford today!

Ford’s Interior Design Uses Brain Waves to Determine Most Appealing Options

Ford VehiclesFord is taking an unprecedented step in its research of what shoppers really like and do not like about a Ford’s interior design. The automaker is turning to innovative technologies and science to learn what makes people tick behind the wheel, and plans to design their future vehicle’s interiors based on the findings.

The project, which has been underway for 18 months, measures biometrics and eye tracking, focusing on where shoppers look when they get in a car, where their eyesight lingers, and responses to color, materials, and other important design elements.

“Vehicle interiors have witnessed one of the biggest evolutions across the history of cars in recent years,” said Raj Nair, Ford Motor Company group vice president, Global Product Development in a statement. He goes on to say that, “not only have we introduced a great deal of useful new technology into our cars and trucks, we consistently are adding better materials, improved design and increased features across the board, from high-end vehicles toentry-level segments. All of this leads to a focus on design languages that not only convey the right messages, but deliver on an enhanced user experience.”

The cutting-edge research will first impact the all-new Ford GT, where a whole lot of technology and features are packed into a compact space. The design has to be functional and intuitive in a car that serves both as a race car and an everyday cruiser. Many of the advanced design features of the Ford GT supercar will likely trickle down throughout the rest of the lineup.

Here at Highway Ford, we invite you to stop by and check out our exciting lineup of vehicles – all of which offer interiors that are functional, attractive, comfortable, and easy-to-navigate. Look for even more improvements in the coming years!

Ford Motor Company Gives Back Almost $100 Million to Charities

People Working together

When it comes to impacting our world, Ford Motor Company is serious about making a difference. The automaker is limitless in its efforts to shaping the way we move, but the company also ventures to get involved in local communities, serving in those places where it provides vehicles. During 2014, Ford and Lincoln dealers provided almost $100 million to charities and local causes.

Each year, Ford asks its dealers around the world to report their charitable giving in the Survey on Dealer Giving. The survey results tell of dealers’ involvement in the local community, not only in giving financially, but in giving of their time as well. Dealership employees gave close to 1 million volunteer hours as they supported the local community by involving their hands and feet.

“These amazing results exemplify the pattern of caring and compassion we have come to recognize among Ford dealers across the globe,” said Edsel B. Ford II, chair of the Salute to Dealers awards program, which recognizes the philanthropy of Ford dealers.

“We know that regardless of the challenges our dealers face, contributing at this level is done not just out of a sense of duty, but out of a passion they share with their employees and customers.”

Based on the survey, 82% of both Ford and Lincoln dealers gave to various organizations to positively impact the community.

Here at Highway Ford, we are proud to be able to pitch in and make our community a little better and a little brighter. Together with other Ford Motor Company dealers, we truly are changing the world.

Jay Leno drives Henry Ford II’s ’52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta

Ford fans worldwide are not only fans of the current Ford model cars, trucks and SUVs but also of vintage cars. Older cars are more than just the history of the Ford name, they’re the history of our nation and our ingenuity and our drive to do better and be better. It shows that one day long long ago (and in a galaxy far far away….sorry….couldn’t help but add the Star Wars reference in there!) a great man looked at the busy streets and said we can make this better, faster, and more efficient. Old cars are like a scrap book of the auto industry’s growth over the years and many Ford fans love to cherish these moments.

Today, we’d like to bring you a video of Jay Leno riding Henry Ford II’s original ’52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta. Although it may not be a Ford vehicle, the relationship between Ford and Enzo Ferrari is interesting to say the least and begins with an amazing friendship! For those who love classic cars and the history that comes along with them (which we here at Highway Ford are) you’ll have to watch the video below! We have to admit we’re pretty envious of Leno and his great car collection!

Ford gives inflatable seat belt technology to all

Ford has been using an amazing safety feature for the past few years, their patented inflatable seat belts, since its initial patent in 2008. Starting in their 2011 Ford Explorer and added into the 2013 Ford Flex, Lincoln MKT and MKZ, and the 2014 Ford Fusion. To continue this trend, Ford is inserting the inflatable seat belts in the new 2015 F-150 pick-up and plans to have it installed in many more future models now that they have a third generation patent currently pending.

But that’s not all the good news coming out of the new patent. Ford is now offering the original system to many different suppliers, their top competitors, and manufacturers of military, airplanes, helicopters, and even boats. The technology will be hosted by AutoHarvest, a nonprofit group, which will then be used by transportation manufacturers like NASA!

AutoHarvest cofounder David Cole said, “We are glad to be able to play a role in spreading this safety technology more broadly.” Chris Danowski, the director of technology commercialization for Ford Global Technologies, added “We are constantly looking at how to improve…our goal is not to withhold it, especially if it is related to safety.”

Have questions about this particular safety feature? Stop on by and speak with one of our knowledgeable sales reps here at Highway Ford!

Take a first look at the 2015 Ford Mustang

Thirty years have gone by and finally Ford brought back a turbo four. The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost took one of its first test drives in Charlotte, NC earlier this month. The new Mustang is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four cylinder and will be placed in between the naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and naturally aspirated 5.0- liter V8. The 2015 Ford Mustang has the best return on fuel economy of the three powerplants due to its all-aluminum engine that will have 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.

Upon the launch of the 2015 Ford Mustang, a six gear manual and automatic transmission will be offered. The automatic transmission has been upgraded to include four different electronic modes; normal, sport, track and snow/wet. Although the 4 cylinder engine lacks the smoothness of a 6 or 8, it makes up for it with its smaller mass. The reduced weight allows the Mustang to be very nimble even throughout excessive maneuvering and could lead to being the best in the family. The new and improved 2015 Ford Mustangs will be on our lot and available soon (not soon enough in our eyes!) so come over and see us at Highway Ford if you are looking to add one of these to your own family!
