2015 Ford Fusion Models

2015 Ford Fusion Models

Recent Ford Fusion spy shots indicate that the Blue Oval Company will soon be offering a mid-cycle update for its 2017 model.

Beneath the black and white camouflage covers, the implied lines indicate changes to the front and rear fascia of the car. The pictures from the ‘car-parazzi’ show the 2017 Ford Fusion adorned with a new grille and also indicate reworked headlights, tail lamps, and added trapezoidal fog lights as well as a new bumper. A horizontal chrome bar extending along the tailgate has also been added.

Inside the cabin, a rotary dial is expected to replace the standard gear level, which is the current standard, and will also be found on the 2016 Ford Taurus to be unveiled later this month at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.

Under the hood, the newest Fusion is projected to maintain its gasoline and hybrid options with no major changes to the powertrain offerings expected to occur.

So, need a mid-size sedan offering an array of powertrain options with a reasonable price tag? Expected to come to market next year, look no further than the Ford Fusion from Highway Ford.  Tell us what you are excited most about the latest model of the Ford Fusion!

Mustang Wins Vincentric Best Value in America Award for 6th Straight Year

2015 Ford MustangThe Ford Mustang has done it again: for the sixth straight year, America’s favorite pony car has won the Vincentric Best Value in America Award for Sports Cars.

This award is based on statistical analysis that combines total cost of ownership of 2015 model year vehicles with their current market price, taking in account insurance, financing, maintenance, and depreciation. After weighing all these categories, the winner is chosen from the one that does the best overall!

In other words, if you are buying a sports car, the 2015 Mustang will give you the best bang for your buck. At Highway Ford, we’d wager that a big part of that is the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, which uses direct injection and variable cam timing to deliver huge power at little cost of fuel—making the car more economical in the long run.

The Vincentric Best Value in America Award joins the many other honors the Mustang has already racked up, including “Hottest Car” of the 2014 SEMA Show, 2015 Automobile All-Star, Edmunds.com’s Most Popular Entry Sport Car, Cars.com’s Shoppers’ Choice Award, and lots more!  For more information about everyone’s favorite sports car, contact us here at Highway Ford today!

Ford’s Interior Design Uses Brain Waves to Determine Most Appealing Options

Ford VehiclesFord is taking an unprecedented step in its research of what shoppers really like and do not like about a Ford’s interior design. The automaker is turning to innovative technologies and science to learn what makes people tick behind the wheel, and plans to design their future vehicle’s interiors based on the findings.

The project, which has been underway for 18 months, measures biometrics and eye tracking, focusing on where shoppers look when they get in a car, where their eyesight lingers, and responses to color, materials, and other important design elements.

“Vehicle interiors have witnessed one of the biggest evolutions across the history of cars in recent years,” said Raj Nair, Ford Motor Company group vice president, Global Product Development in a statement. He goes on to say that, “not only have we introduced a great deal of useful new technology into our cars and trucks, we consistently are adding better materials, improved design and increased features across the board, from high-end vehicles toentry-level segments. All of this leads to a focus on design languages that not only convey the right messages, but deliver on an enhanced user experience.”

The cutting-edge research will first impact the all-new Ford GT, where a whole lot of technology and features are packed into a compact space. The design has to be functional and intuitive in a car that serves both as a race car and an everyday cruiser. Many of the advanced design features of the Ford GT supercar will likely trickle down throughout the rest of the lineup.

Here at Highway Ford, we invite you to stop by and check out our exciting lineup of vehicles – all of which offer interiors that are functional, attractive, comfortable, and easy-to-navigate. Look for even more improvements in the coming years!

Examining the Difference Between Synthetic and Conventional Oil

Check oil

Oil is the lifeblood of your engine. It is absolutely essential to the proper functioning of your engine. In the last few years, synthetic oil has gained popularity. Most people are familiar with conventional oil and like with anything, it takes time for a new model to catch on. But, is synthetic oil worth it? What’s the difference between synthetic and conventional oil?

Synthetic oil is made in a lab, as opposed to being derived from petroleum. HowStuffWorks.com reports that synthetic oil can “produce less resistance in the engine.” That means that the oil isn’t fighting the movement of the engine parts. Thus, you get more horsepower and improved efficiency. Using synthetic oil, your vehicle can go anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 miles between oil changes.

While at first it might seem like using synthetic oil is a no-brainer, it is more expensive. You’d have to do a little math to ensure that it was indeed the cheaper way to go.

And for those that contend that synthetic oil is more environmentally-friendly, that is arguable. HowStuffWorks says that “synthetics are unfortunately formed by chemicals that are no less harmful to the environment.” However, it’s highly likely that they are the greener choice.

Speaking of oil, are you due for an oil change? Pay us a visit at Highway Ford and we’ll take care of it quickly!

The F-150 is Named Truck Trend Pickup of the Year

Awards for the new F-150 just keep coming in, including the Truck Trend Pickup of the Year. Not only is the new model tougher and more capable than ever, but it’s also one of the smartest pickups Ford has developed to date.

So what does “smart” mean? According to Ford, the 2015 F-150 features a new 360-degree camera, integrated loading rams, BoxLink™ brackets and cleats, LED headlamps, and a remote tailgate among other things. To top it off, the lightweight aluminum design and all-new engine options make it more efficient and powerful than ever.

“Ford has found a sweet spot in the half-ton pickup segment, delivering a compelling mix of efficiency and capability, while still delivering an enhanced driving experience that American consumers demand,” said Sean P. Holman, Truck Trend content director. “What we put these trucks through was nothing short of grueling, and it was the F-150 that consistently impressed our experts.”

So far the 2015 F-150 has won 16 awards – not too bad considering it’s been on the market for less than a year. Truck Trend isn’t just following suit by giving the new model the prestigious title; they recognize the incredible new design and capability of the 2015 F-150. Test drive the latest Ford pickup here at Highway Ford soon!

Ford Future of Tough Campaign Launched on New Year’s Eve

Ford Future of Tough Campaign

The Ford camp is simply abuzz with the arrival of the all-new, groundbreaking aluminum-body F150. To help get the word out about this incredible truck, Ford initiated a marketing blitz that began on New Year’s Eve.

The underlying message? The Ford F150 is the ‘Future of Tough.’ Edmunds.com explains how the commercial’s focus is on “the strength and durability of the new truck and innovative new features such as integrated ramps and a remote tailgate.” One spot in particular highlights the new F150’s capacity, showing off its 12,200 lb towing capability.

For the Future of Tough campaign, Ford is even going so far as to redesign its Built Ford Tough logo. While stalwarts may be a little perturbed by this refresh, they should know the essence of the design will remain the same. Ford just felt that it was appropriate that the logo be built out of aluminum as well.

Come out to Highway Ford today and test-drive the ‘Future Of Tough’ in 2015.

2015 Ford F-150 Offers Special Power Rear Window Option

Something keeps getting lost in the aluminum shuffle surrounding the all-new 2015 Ford F-150—the fact that the F-150 offers enough innovation and technology to make it an interesting vehicle even if the frame was made out of wood (which, of course, it is not). Here at Highway Ford, the most exciting of these new technologies is the special power rear window, an innovation created, designed, and implemented by Magna International. The new power rear window will have seamless functionality, adding a new level of convenience to America’s best-selling truck.

The special window option comes as a direct response to customer feedback, according to Noah Mass, manager of body exterior mechanisms for Ford. “They said they wanted visibility, that it seals well when it is closed, but still able to open the center window and use the defog when it is open,” Mass said. To meet this need, Ford opened a design competition, and Magna International delivered exactly what both Ford and its customers wanted.

The new window is an efficient one-piece sealing technology, and it even offers a heating grid that can keep the rear window defrosted even when the window is open. That’s the kind of technology you can’t find anywhere but with the Blue Oval. The folks at Ford are already looking for new ways to deploy this technology, so make sure to let them know which Ford vehicle could most benefit from the sliding power rear window option.

2015 Ford Mustang Loaded with Supplier-Made Innovations

The Ford Mustang is one of the Blue Oval’s most famous and influential models—and it’s now stretched that influence over half a century. However, as Ford introduces the 2015 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition, the brand wants to make it clear that the Mustang has always been a collaborative effort. Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s vice president for global purchasing, recently highlighted all the awesome supplier-made innovations included on the new Mustang.

Those supplier technologies, on the Mustang alone, include quarter windows made with louvered glass and hydroformed A-pillar and roof rails. “Considering the impact suppliers have on our business, with 70 percent of the value of the vehicle being purchased from our supplier partners, our suppliers are critical to our ability to offer attractive solutions to our customers,” Thai-Tang said in a statement.

Suppliers were also responsible for key additions and innovations on the upcoming 2015 F-150 as well. These two great new vehicles prove that the Ford Motor Company is consistently invested in finding the best people to work on their products and thus create the best possible automobiles in the world. So come in to Highway Ford to check out all of these amazing Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs today.

Thanks to Escape, Explorer, and Fusion, Ford’s July Sales Numbers Soar

There have been no summer doldrums for the Ford Motor Company, as the brand moved 212,236 vehicles in just the month of July alone. That number was good enough for a 10% increase in sales over last year’s numbers, which also made this the best July for the Blue Oval in eight years. Ford sales in the month were led by SUVs like the Escape and Explorer as well as a strong performance from the Fusion midsize sedan.

“July proved to be a very good month for Ford and Lincoln with positive gains across the board in all the major segments,” said John Felice, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Escape and Fusion were big contributors to our sales increases, with both setting July sales records. F-Series again topped the 60,000-vehicle sales mark and we’re seeing great initial demand for our launch vehicles, such as the Transit Connect, Transit Connect Wagon and the Lincoln MKC as availability builds.”

We’re seeing lots of that same demand here at Highway Ford, too, so make sure to come see us as soon as you can. As you can tell, based on those crazy sales numbers, these cars don’t sit on our lots for long. So come see us today to find the perfect Ford car, truck or SUV for you and your family today!
