Ford recently released an updated version of their Mustang Customizer app, available at both the virtual Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The redesigned app actually allows you to see the car from every angle, thanks to their new 3D rendering system.
You can also use the program to find a dealer near you, as well as to find an existing Mustang similar to whatever custom-made model you made within the app. Truly, creating a custom vehicle has never been easier.
Not only can you adjust your perfect Mustang to any paint color, you also have control over the wheels and tons of other parts that bring the vehicle together. Best of all – the app itself is totally free. This is the best way to get a feel for the Mustang that is perfect for you; and it doesn’t cost you a thing!
Even if you’re not actually considering a Mustang purchase in the near future, the app is still a blast to fool around with, especially for Mustang fans. Check out the Mustang Customizer app, and tell us about your experience in the comments! We would love to hear about how the Mustang Customizer App works.
The King Cobra Parts Package will turn the 2015 Mustang into a track star.
For the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Ford Racing revealed the 2015 Mustang equipped with the King Cobra parts package. The package is composed of a set of three performance packages, the first offered for the all-new pony car. The most exciting part is they are available to all owners of the Mustang, not just those who built the King Cobra and displayed it at the SEMA Show.
The King Cobra package includes the “Drag Pack,” “Handling Pack,” and “Super Pack,” giving the track-ready Mustang 600+ horsepower and other high-performance features.
“At Ford Racing, we like to push cars to their absolute limit,” said Jamie Allison, Ford Racing director. “This is something we have been doing for 113 years and why we were so excited to get our hands on the all-new, 2015 Mustang.
“We wanted Mustang enthusiasts to be able to open up the Ford Racing parts catalog and get one of everything and see what they could get. We think the King Cobra package is it. But none of this great work would be possible if Team Mustang had not built the best production Mustang yet.”
For more information on purchasing the King Cobra package or to behold the 2015 Mustang in its original glory, before performance modifications, stop by Highway Ford today. We would be glad to oblige.
Finally! No longer will we need to say, “The 2015 Ford Mustang is coming soon.” It’s been around for 50 years and six generations now, but the all-new model is likely to prove the best yet. And it will be available to more people than ever before as well. Production recently began at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, which will soon be shipping these new Mustangs to over 120 countries worldwide.
“Mustang is and will continue to be an automotive icon,” Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, said. “Expanding its availability globally affords our customers around the world the opportunity to have a true firsthand Mustang experience—one unlike any other.”
You can take our word for it here at Highway Ford: those aren’t just words. The 2015 Mustang certainly has the capability to back it up. It comes in both the fastback and convertible models, offering three engines—a 2.3L EcoBoost, 3.7L V6, and, of course, the 5.0L V8 with 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. And we’re just scratching the surface of what’s so awesome about the new pony car, so come see us to learn more today.
Thirty years have gone by and finally Ford brought back a turbo four. The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost took one of its first test drives in Charlotte, NC earlier this month. The new Mustang is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four cylinder and will be placed in between the naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and naturally aspirated 5.0- liter V8. The 2015 Ford Mustang has the best return on fuel economy of the three powerplants due to its all-aluminum engine that will have 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.
Upon the launch of the 2015 Ford Mustang, a six gear manual and automatic transmission will be offered. The automatic transmission has been upgraded to include four different electronic modes; normal, sport, track and snow/wet. Although the 4 cylinder engine lacks the smoothness of a 6 or 8, it makes up for it with its smaller mass. The reduced weight allows the Mustang to be very nimble even throughout excessive maneuvering and could lead to being the best in the family. The new and improved 2015 Ford Mustangs will be on our lot and available soon (not soon enough in our eyes!) so come over and see us at Highway Ford if you are looking to add one of these to your own family!
Last week we spoke about how a new 2015 Ford Mustang was placed on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building. Last but not least, both the EcoBoost and GT models have performance packages available for an additional $1,995 and $2,495 respectively. The 50th Anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang is just a few short weeks away. And, Ford wants to celebrate in a big way. On April 16 and 17, if you go to the observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York City, you will see a 2015 Ford Mustang convertible, not way down below on the streets, but right next to you, on the deck.
“New York is one of the greatest cities in the world, and it’s the place where the Ford Mustang story began 50 years ago,” said Mark Fields, Ford chief operating officer, in a statement.
Pretty soon there will be a new 2015 Mustang atop the Empire State Building where that 1965 one is.
Ford unveiled the Mustang for the first time at the 1964 New York World’s Fair on April 17. And, in 1965, Ford cut a Mustang into three pieces to fit it in the elevators of the Empire State Building and put it on display at the top.
Now, Ford is going to recreate the process to commemorate this significant anniversary. However, this time around, it will be an even tighter fit, since the new Mustang is seven inches longer and four inches wider.
“Like the team that did this in 1965, the current crew visited the Empire State Building before starting and took careful measurements of its new elevators and doors before cutting up the car,” said Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer, in a statement.
The Mustang will be on display for a total of 54 hours at the Empire State Building. If you’ll be in New York on April 16 or 17, be sure to stop by and take a look at this historic moment.
The year was 1964, the day March 9. Ford Motor Company made automotive history when they unveiled a first of its kind muscle car – The Ford Mustang. The mustang was a new breed of automobile, one that was affordable, highly styled and built for sport/performance. In other words, Mustang was the original Pony car. Over the past 50 years of Mustang, a lot has changed but it has always been popular; to the tune of more than 9.2 million sold since 1964.
The 2014 model is part of the way Ford is celebrating 50 years of Mustang
Although the Mustang revolutionized the American automotive industry when it first came off the assembly line on March 9, the media weren’t introduced until the New York World’s Fair on April 13. It took another four days from the media intro before Ford sold the car publicly. The dates of these events are according to Sam Abuelsamid, Mustang editor at Global Team Ford communications, which you can see in a USA Today article.
In what will be the 6th generation of the muscle car, the 2015 Mustang will partly commemorate the past 50 years of Mustang. It will have all the same features you’ve come to expect from Ford Mustangs as well as all the power and thrilling driving experience. The rest of commemoration will take part in three different locations across the United States. You can read about the events at Pony Drive, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the official 50 years of Mustang page.
Another way you could celebrate, which we have to recommend as the best, is by getting yourself a great 2014 or 2015 Mustang from your Lake Charles area Ford dealer – Highway Ford.
Chocolate is one thing that people associate with Valentine’s Day more so than anything else. With Valentine’s Day today, Ford took to 3D printing to give their fans a sweet treat… a 2015 Ford chocolate Mustang. Although the chocolate version doesn’t get very good gas mileage, it definitely tastes a lot better.
In partnership with a Los Angeles-based company specializing in 3D printed confections, 3D Systems Sugar Lab, Ford built the perfect scale models of their famous muscle car out of chocolate and sugar. Additionally Ford built a plastic model using similar 3D printing techniques which you can see at autoblog.com.
“It was a challenge to take it from the full CAD version down to a little one-inch bite of chocolate, [but] that was fun,” Liz Von Hasseln, Creative Director Food Products at 3D Systems/The Sugar Lab, said. The mini mustangs were a challenge worth taking on, as they created a lot of buzz with blog posts like this and various news articles.
The three 3D printed model Mustangs were part of Ford’s initiative to showcase how the automaker is using 3D printing for all its vehicles. This Ford video talks on that point specifically.
You can’t buy the chocolate or sugar models of the American classic for the motor head on your list this Valentine’s Day, but Ford is considering licensing the design in the future. Maybe you’ll have to settle for getting them a real Ford Mustang instead.
2015 Mustang as it appears in Need for Speed video game
The phrase “need for speed” can have different meanings depending on who you ask. To a gamer, it’s a video game series; a film buff it’s an upcoming DreamWorks production from the director of “Act of Valor;” but ask somebody at Ford and it’s the perfect way to showcase the 2015 Ford Mustang.
The 2015 version of one of America’s most beloved cars is partnering with the “Need For Speed” franchise and effectively making the Mustang even more cool than ever before. Targeting generations of current and future car buyers with video game appearances and feature films allows Ford to communicate all the appeal of the Mustang without the intrusiveness of a commercial.
People will be thinking, talking and dreaming about the new Mustang before it is even in a dealer’s lot. They hype around the 2015 Mustang won’t be able to be ignored. With bold new color choices, plenty of technological advances and most importantly all the power that American muscle cars have been predicated on for the last 50 years – with engine options for a 2.3-liter EcoBoost®, 3.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8.
