We’re guessing that the 2019 Ford Ranger will have some similar feature to the 2012 European version, shown here.
If you’re not excited yet, you should be: Ford has announced the Ford Ranger pickup will return to the United States in 2019. So start packing for your next big adventure now, because the 2019 Ford Ranger is sure to deliver all the rugged capability you’ll need to press on when the main road ends and the backcountry begins. This ultra-versatile truck is sure to be a massive hit for the adventurous, the brave, the curious, and those who simply love a good time.
Still available in pretty much every market besides North America, details about the new 2019 Ford Ranger are still emerging. It seems quite clear, though, that the new Ranger—set to be built in Ford Michigan assembly plant and sold in the US—won’t be the same as the Ranger currently available elsewhere in the world. For now, all we can do is speculate about what a North American Ranger will look and feel like.
All Ford has confirmed is that the American Ranger will get its own “front styling, engines, and features.” And while this might seem like very little to get excited about, the prospect of a newly reengineered Ford Ranger is a lot to look forward to. In the meantime, stop by Highway Ford and stay in the know as more details emerge about the 2019 Ford Ranger.
Automakers across the board are working to develop new, more sophisticated technologies to further advance the automotive industry. Ford announced that it will seek to fund its latest batch of technology through a long-term debt plan. The move will mark the first time in four years that Ford has added to its debt—and it couldn’t be for a better reason.
Ford’s new technology will cover a range of areas, including electric vehicles, self-driving cars, and alternative mobility, like ride-sharing services.
“It’s a supportive marketplace for long-term debt given where rates are, and we want to make sure that throughout the cycle of the industry we have the flexibility to do what we need to do and want to do, especially in the emerging part of the business,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford Americas President.
Ford is targeting the large SUV segment specifically when it comes to new technologies. General Motors has dominated the market past few years, but recent updates to the Ford Explorer have put it back on track as a true competitor.
The Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator will undergo their first full redesign in nearly 15 years, effectively giving General Motors a run for the market. Amid extra funding, Ford’s technology will likely come at an accelerated rate as well.
Here at Highway Ford, we’re pumped to see such a dedicated automaker working tirelessly to develop new technologies!
Ford is the latest automaker to unveil a new SUV to be added to its lineup ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The new Ford EcoSport SUV will join the brand sometime in 2018. The announcement of the new model also comes with a twist, though. In a first for Detroit-based automakers, Ford will import the EcoSport SUV from India.
The Ford EcoSport SUV has been made in India since 2013. The crossover will be making its global debut in just a few years. The model is currently built in six locations and also sold in over 100 markets. The United States will be the latest addition to the EcoSport’s portfolio.
Ford SUV Sales
The American brand has sold more than 12 million SUVs globally over the past 25 years, with more than 1.7 million EcoSports being sold since its introduction in 2003. That’s a major chunk of Ford’s global SUV sales, and with the United States market next on the list that number is only going to grow.
The Ford EcoSport will compete with the likes of the Honda HR-V and Chevrolet Trax when it arrives in 2018.
We here at Highway Ford can’t wait for the arrival of the new EcoSport SUV!
For the 2017 model year, Ford has built the new F-150 Raptor to be more maneuverable and capable than ever before, referring to it as the toughest and smartest F-150 Raptor ever. Part of what makes the off-roading pickup’s performance so great is the new F-150 Raptor Tires are custom-made just for this truck by BFGoodrich. These custom tires were developed exclusively to give the Raptor maximize ride comfort both on- and off-road and to optimize and improve performance capability.
BFGoodrich and Ford partnered up while the 2017 F-150 Raptor was still in development. That means that while Ford was building the pickup’s chassis, BFGoodrich was engineering the all-terrain T/A KO2 tires in tandem, so every part of the tires were designed to match the strength and capabilities of the F-150 Raptor’s underpinnings. More than a dozen variations of the tires were created and tested on the truck in order to ensure that they could withstand the extreme conditions and high-intensity power required of the F-150 Raptor pickup.
The BFGoodrich tires feature an all-new tread pattern with more tread area, wider channels between the tread, an enhanced contact patch, and large sidewall lugs. All of these design choices were made to optimize off-road performance while simultaneously allowing the tires to last longer with less wear and tear. The end result was chosen after logging hundreds of hours in computer simulations of how the all-terrain tires would behave in a real-world setting.
The new F-150 Raptor tires are being used on Ford’s Raptor race truck in the Best in the Desert race series. The custom all-terrain tires join a variety of other custom tires being created by Michelin for Ford’s performance car lineup, including the Focus RS and the new GT.

It’ll come as no surprise to those who stay up to date with the truck world, but here it is anyway: the 2016 Ford F-150 has been named the 2016 Green Truck of the Year by Green Car Journal at the San Antonio Auto & Truck Show. As with previous years, the 2016 Ford F-150 has a great start in terms of winning awards this year.
The first question that comes to mind is obvious: what kind of mileage does it get? The 2016 Ford F-150 is rated at 26 miles per gallon, making it the most fuel efficient full-size gas-powered pickup truck you can buy. You might point out that hybrid cars are far more efficient, but a lot more people drive trucks than hybrids, which means that making greener trucks actually has a bigger impact. In fact, the F-150 is not only our best-selling model at Highway Ford but the best-selling vehicle in all of America.
Part of the new truck’s superior efficiency can be attributed to the extensive use of aluminum, but Ford’s “green” efforts don’t stop there: even the seats are made of fiber from recycled plastic bottles and the fuel lines from castor bean oil! Tell us what your favorite feature of the new 2016 Ford F-150 here at Highway Ford in DeRidder, LA!
Ford truck and SUV sales have always been a major part of Ford’s economy, and the numbers from September 2015 are proof as to why.
Last month, Ford truck and SUV sales hit an 11-year high for the month of September. Truck sales went up by 23.2%, adding to the 11.3% jump from August. Plus, Ford Escape SUV sales also got a 31.1% boost, which is an impressively hefty number to report. Across the board SUV sales have been up, so it’s good to see that Ford is keeping up with the trend.
Not only did Ford sell more units than expected last month, but the models being purchased were the more highly priced items; in September, the average transaction price increased by 0.3%. That might not sound like the biggest leap, but this is a substantial and telling number toward Ford’s upward momentum. This not only shows Ford’s increased sales, but the upward trend of the economy for new vehicle sales.
Trucks account for about 41% of Ford’s total sales; so needless to say, Ford is doing very well for itself with its leading sales coming from its truck sales. And with a truck like the 2015 Ford F-150, it’s no surprise that sales are doing well. We can’t wait to see what the 2016 Ford F-150 will bring here at Highway Ford!
