Ford F-150 interiorThe Ford F-150 is getting attention from all corners. In fact, Ford is going to need a bigger trophy case if this award-streak continues.

Being that the Ford F-150 would be the first aluminum truck in production, there were some initial questions from skeptics as whether the aluminum body would prove safe in the event of a collision. Results from recent tests by the National Highway Safety have certainly allayed all of those concerns.

The 2015 Ford F-150 received the highest crash ratings from the NHTSA in all the F-150’s permutations. According to USA Today, the four-door SuperCrew cab version as well as the regular and SuperCab versions received 5-stars.  Not only is the safety expectation in trucks being met by the 2015 Ford F-150, but this new model is raising the standard for safety in all trucks!

How does Ford feel about the Ford F-150 crash results? Ford spokesperson Mike Levine said, “We’re proud the all-new Ford F-150 is the only full-size, light-duty truck to earn NHTSA’s highest 5-star rating for the driver and passenger for all crash test modes and cab configurations.”

In other accolades, the 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCab Lariat caught the attention of AAA. Their Green Car Guide listed the Lariat as best in the pickup truck category.
